Add CoGs to set of Warehouses
Towards the end of the Center of Gravity analysis, you may find several warehouse candidates which are useful to be included in the SC Navigator Input dataset. This can be done by the page action Add CoGs to set of Warehouses . When triggering this action, a dialog page to specify detailed data will show up.
Available, cost and capacity data
All products which have Available data in Warehouse Product sheet, will become available for all exported CoGs.
CoG Running Cost - This is the fixed cost of each exported CoG.
CoG Variable Cost - The variable cost of each exported CoG.
CoG Min Throughput Capacity - The minimum capacity of each exported CoG.
CoG Max Throughput Capacity - The maximum capacity of each exported CoG.
Grouping
Warehouse Group - The warehouse group which all exported CoGs belong to. You can further modify this value for each CoG in the table on the right: Selected CoGs.
Location Group - The location group which all exported CoGs belong to. You can further modify this value for each CoG in the table on the right: Selected CoGs.
Source/destination data
Product Group for Source/Destination Locations - The product group which should be constrained by the maximum number of source/destination locations. If left empty, all products are implied.
Maximum # of Source Locations - The maximum number of source locations (Supplier/Warehouse/Production) which can supply a product (group) to each exported CoG. If 0, it means unlimited.
Maximum # of Destination Locations - The maximum number of destination locations (Warehouse/Production/Customer) which can receive a product (group) from each exported CoG. If 0, it means unlimited.
Note
Warehouse Product data
Products that have Available (Warehouse) data in Warehouse Product sheet are also available for exported CoG locations. For example, ‘All Finished Products’ is available at warehouse Budapest_LDC location Budapest_LDC. ‘All Finished Products’ (including all individual finished products) is also available for warehouse cog1 at location cog1.
Transport Cost data
The exported CoGs inherit transport cost data from the group they belong to. For example, cog1 is in Warehouse Group ‘LDC’ Location Group ‘LDC’, and cog2 is in Warehouse Group ‘CDC’ Location Group ‘CDC’.
The transport lanes are available between group LDC and demand locations. Transport lane is available between cog1 and demand locations, and cost data is the same.
The transport lanes are available between group CDC and LDC. Transport lane is available between cog2 and LDC locations, and cost data is the same.
This requires the data specified at (location) group level in Transport Cost sheet.
Selected CoGs
Select/Unselect - Use widget action to select or unselect all.
Description - The names for the exported CoGs. They are initialized with the closest city name, and can be modified in this column.
Warehouse Group for CoGs - The warehouse group that each CoG belong to. This data is required for selected CoGs.
Location Group for CoGs - The location group that each CoG belong to. This data is required for selected CoGs.
After all detailed data is specified, click on the Apply button, the selected CoGs will be added to the active SC Navigator data as warehouses. At the same time, any previous exported CoGs are removed from the active SC Navigator data. If you want to save your combination of SC Navigator Input data and the exported CoGs (warehouses), you have to save your data as Result data afterwards.
