Data

The Data page in Transport Navigator can be used to review and create scenarios from the input data for Transport Navigator. The page contains five tabs: Settings, Warehouses, Vehicles, Customers, and Fixed Routes. The data tables in each tab will be discussed below.

Settings

The Transport Navigator data attributes that can be reviewed and adjusted on the Settings Data table are given below.

Field

Description

TN Solve Time

Time in seconds for the Transport Navigator to find the best solution.

Reference Date and Time

Starting date and time for the Transport Navigator optimization.

Include Week Number in Time Stamps

Indicates if week numbers should be included in timestamps.

Reset Duty Time at Warehouse

Resets the duty time when returning to the warehouse.

Volume UOM

Unit of measurement for volume.

Weight UOM

Unit of measurement for weight.

Time Window Start Offset

Adjusts the Time Window Start for longer or shorter time windows.

Time Window End Offset

Adjusts the Time Window End for longer or shorter time windows.

Time Window Start Overwrite

Sets a new Time Window Start, overwriting the previous value.

Time Window End Overwrite

Sets a new Time Window End, overwriting the previous value.

On the Period Data table, the Period Start and Period End values can be adjusted.

Warehouses

The Warehouses tab contains the Warehouse Data table. Data on the following attributes can be reviewed and adjusted there:

Field

Description

Mode of Transport

The Mode of Transport that is used for routes from the warehouse location.

Maximum Duty Time

The maximum duty time (in minutes) before a layover is required.

Maximum Drive Time

The maximum drive time (in minutes) before a layover is required.

Minimum Layover Duration

The minimum duration of a layover (in minutes).

Maximum Layover Duration

The maximum duration of a layover (in minutes).

Cost Per Stop

The cost per stop made during the route.

Cost Per Dispatch

The cost for dispatching a vehicle from the warehouse.

Cost Per Layover

The cost per layover.

Cost Per Hour Late

The cost per hour of being late after the customer time window, calculated per minute.

Maximum Distance between Stops

The maximum distance between two (customer) stops.

Reloading Time Warehouse

The reloading time (in minutes) at a warehouse before a vehicle can depart again.

Maximum Number of Stops per Route

The maximum number of stops on a route before the truck needs to return to the warehouse.

Vehicles

The Vehicles tab contains the Vehicles Data table. Data on the following attributes can be reviewed and adjusted there:

Description

Reduced Capacity Per Stop

The amount by which the vehicle’s volume capacity decreases per stop on a multi-stop route.

Vehicle Capacity Weight

The weight capacity of the vehicle type, as specified in the weight unit of measurement.

Vehicle Capacity Volume

The volume capacity of the vehicle type, as specified in the volume unit of measurement.

Has Sleep Cabin

Indicates the availability of a sleep cabin in the vehicle type for layovers.

Cost Per Distance

The cost per unit of distance (kilometer or mile) for transportation.

Cost Per Day

The daily cost associated with owning or operating the vehicle.

Cost Per Hour

The cost per hour of duty time for operating the vehicle.

Grouping Code

A code used to group customers and assign them to a vehicle with a matching grouping code.

Customers

The Customers tab contains the Customers Data table. Data on the following attributes can be reviewed and adjusted there:

Field

Description

Demand

The demand for each product per customer in the base unit of measurement.

Demand Volume

The volume of product demand for each customer, specified in the volume unit of measurement.

Demand Weight

The weight of product demand for each customer, specified in the weight unit of measurement.

Effort

The effort required in the warehouse to pick, load, or process the order.

Service Time

The time in minutes required for service at the customer’s location, e.g. offloading.

Time Window Start

The earliest possible arrival time at the customer’s location, in hours from the period start.

Time Window End

The latest possible arrival time at the customer’s location, in hours from the period start.

Is First Stop

Indicates if the location must be the first stop on a route (1 for yes, 0 for no).

Is Last Stop

Indicates if the location must be the last stop on a route (1 for yes, 0 for no).

Grouping Code

A code to group customers for assigning to a vehicle with a matching grouping code.

Serviced by Warehouse Location

The warehouse location name that services the demand.

Fixed Routes

The Fixed Routes tab contains the Fixed Routes Data table. Data on the following attributes can be reviewed and adjusted there:

Description

Customer Name

The name of the customer where a vehicle needs to stop on the fixed route.

Location Name

The name of the location where a vehicle needs to stop on the fixed route.

TN Period Name

The name of the Transport Navigator period during which a stop is made on the fixed route.
